OUR STORIES
Intention Over Resolution: Finding Your Place on the Road This Year
January often arrives loud—full of pressure to decide, commit, and fix ourselves.
At One Life Van Life, we choose a quieter invitation.
Instead of resolutions that demand change, we pause and ask something gentler:
How do I want to live?
How do I want to feel as I move forward?
Recently, our Adventure Together community gathered for a reflection on intention setting—guided by Jennifer Medina, PhD, a clinical psychologist and longtime advocate for intentional living. What emerged wasn’t a list of goals or a plan to hustle harder. It was something far more honest: a shared willingness to slow down, listen inward, and honor where each woman truly is.
Because before we ask where we’re going, it helps to ask:
Where am I on the road right now?
The Holidays, Transitions, and Giving Ourselves Permission in Vanlife
Vanlife, in many ways, is a vehicle for transition. It gives us the ability to change our surroundings, step into new environments, and open ourselves to fresh experiences, routines, and traditions. Sometimes that’s freeing. Sometimes it stirs up grief for what we’ve left behind — or what has left us without our choosing.
The holidays can amplify those feelings. They often bring a swirl of shoulds — how we “should” celebrate, what family “should” look like, or how we “should” feel. But in truth, there’s no one right way. Whether your circle includes work family, chosen family, bio family, or no family at all — the holidays are yours to shape.
Women on the Road: Vanlife Safety, Sisterhood & Soaking in Ojo Caliente
We had another incredible Zoom call with our vanlife community: Adventure Together, a Women’s Vanlife Collective, and the energy was high. There’s something powerful about gathering in real time to swap tips, share stories, and support each other on this wild ride of full-time van living.
Here’s what went down (and what’s coming up 👀)...
Safety in Vanlife (and in our bodies)
Safety in Vanlife
We recently had a discussion with women about safety on the road. It was very helpful for many of us and I want to share some thoughts.
Our fears on the road are a lot of times just in our heads. The fear is based on the story we are telling ourselves- which has to do with what messages we have been fed our whole life.
THE BEGINNING
I am writing this as we have come to the end of our year long Great American Roadtrip. It is a long story with a lot of exciting adventures and learnings. So lets rewind…
In the beginning our dream was to create a life of adventure and fun together.
Do you need that final push, support and mentoring to finally pull the plug on vanlife?
We would love to mentor and coach you past your analysis paralysis and into being on the road.
