Gratitude for Vanlife and this Community
Thank you to everyone who joined our pre-Thanksgiving Zoom call. It was such a warm, fun, and connected evening with our Adventure Together community. Here’s the recap…
We began with light conversation about recent travels and upcoming Thanksgiving plans. People shared where and how they would be spending the holiday. It was an easy way to settle in before moving into the heart of the call.
Looking forward, we talked about forming a volunteer focus group to help shape upcoming activities. Several women shared interest in hosting small gatherings in their local areas, such as coffee meetups, winery visits, sporting events, music festivals and casual outdoor hangouts. The goal is to build a community of ambassadors who help support women in vanlife and keep this group strong and connected. A survey and invitation will be coming out with all the information. A follow-up meeting will be scheduled soon for anyone who wants to participate.
We discussed the current vibe of the group and the importance of keeping the group safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental. A recent post sparked some conversation, and the group reaffirmed the value of kindness, understanding, and giving each other the benefit of the doubt. This naturally led into the gratitude theme of the night.
Amy’s gratitude meditation invited everyone to reflect on moments from the past year that made them feel alive, notice their personal growth, and recall people or experiences that supported them. The stories shared afterward came directly from this quiet reflection, and they opened the door to some beautiful conversations.
People shared moments of appreciation, awe, life transitions, new friendships, lessons and experiences that shaped their year. Many reflected on their journey into vanlife, the challenges they overcame, and the support they found in this community. Others shared powerful moments in nature, successful first solo trips, wildlife encounters, and the joy of connecting with people on the road.
We ended the night with a fun round of Never Have I Ever, sharing stories about getting stuck on rough roads, tire upgrades, driving away with things still attached to the van, overnighting at Walmart and Cracker Barrel, parking mishaps, and classic vanlife lessons learned. It was full of laughter and levity.
The evening wrapped up with a quick look at our new community logo and warm holiday wishes.
Thank you again to everyone who joined. This community continues to grow because of your stories, your courage, and your willingness to show up for one another.
Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving week.
Adventure In.
